Making Canvas Panels

I have recently started to create my own canvas panels and will do a tutorial soon with a list of materials and the method. The question is why, the answer ?

Over the years I have accumulated a lot of picture frames , most of these have work that has not sold within the last 10years, so usually I would cut my own wood panels and work directly onto wood. However i feel that i have finally found the surface that suits my needs. So old paintings will be taken out and I will make canvas panels to fit , that way I can now maintain a consistency which works best with my paint application.
